About Our Next Concert:
We continue celebrating our 40th anniversary with our fifth concert of the season on Saturday, March 28, 7:00 PM, at Everett First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Avenue, Everett, with Ch’Uqui String & Piano Ensemble.
The Chuqui String and Piano Ensemble (or simply the Ch’uqi Ensemble) is a chamber music group centered around the works and performances of Peruvian-American pianist and composer Hwaen Ch’uqi. The group is particularly known for performing Ch’uqi’s original compositions, which often blend classical Romantic styles with motifs from traditional Inca music.
Hwaen Ch’uqi is an internationally recognized artist who studied at the Eastman School of Music. His career highlights include being a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and receiving special prizes at the Sviatoslav Richter International Piano Competition.
The ensemble typically performs as a piano quintet, featuring the following musicians: Hwaen Ch’uqi- Piano, Pamela Liu- Violin, Jennifer Glenn Shoval- Viola, Erika Pierson- Cello, and Anna Doak- Double Bass.
The ensemble has an established relationship with the Cascadia Art Museum in Edmonds, WA, where they frequently perform world premieres and regular chamber concerts.
